Here's the whole steps of Graduate Studies Procedures as approved in " BARVQ ":

1. Matching admission criteria | – Checking the eligibility of the candidate student, by reviewing the application file, and ensuring that he meets the conditions for joining the chosen study program. | 2 weeks |
2. Choosing a thesis path & title | – Students must choose between two paths, PHD or DBA, also they should choose between Qualitative studies, or Quantitative studies. – Students should also choose a thesis title that has not previously been presented elsewhere. | 1 month |
3. Choosing the academic supervisor and discussing the research draft | – To help them choose the most appropriate major and path, the nominated students should submit a research draft to an chair professor appointed by the BARVQ, and be guided by his advice for possible modifications to optimally formulate the research project. | 2 month for DBA 1 month for master |
4. Primary Seminar- Committee | – A chairperson is appointed for the preliminary discussion, in addition to two members to express their opinion and to provide guidance on the content and appropriate research methods for the study. and reviewing university research related to the research topic, The students submit the research project to this committee, listen carefully to the comments presented, and then the project is modified in light of the comments, and a new date is set for discussion. | 2 month for DBA 1 month for master |
5. Modified Seminar–Committee | – The student submits the research project to the committee after completing the required amendments. – When the supervisory committee is satisfied that the proposed research meets all the requirements, the committee chair submits the proposed research project, the validity report and the evaluation basis on which the research was reviewed to the academic director for approval in principle. – The amendment should include all elements related to content, methodology, form and style, and ethical procedures, which enables the student to schedule the work plan and obtain final approval to start writing. | 2 month for DBA 1 month for master |
6. Approval of the action plan, and signing code of ethics | – After obtaining the final attachment on the research project, the candidate student submits a time-framed work plan to complete the research, and it is discussed with the supervising professor. – The plan should clearly include an accurate timeline for the completion of the research departments, the expected dates for publishing scientific research, and the available resources needed to complete the research. It is also advisable to set a short budget – if necessary – for the costs of data collection and other expenses that may be required by the nature of the research. – After the plan is approved by the supervising professor, a copy of the documentation is sent to the Academic Director. – The candidate student signs the Research Ethics Charter approved by “BARVQ”. | 2 weeks |
7. Review of the first research report – foundation section | – The candidate student is required to submit a scientific discussion once a year on the two parts of the thesis. – In the first part, the student reviews the introductory (theoretical) chapter that he has finished writing, and discusses the previous literature with the supervisory committee to evaluate the progress made in completing the research. – The student listens to the amendments submitted by the committee, and works on them. – The student also sends a copy of the scientific research he published during this period to the office of the Academic Director. | 1 year 3 months for master |
8. Review of the second research report- applied section | – The candidate student is required to submit a scientific discussion once a year on the two parts of the thesis. – In the second part, the student reviews the applied chapter that he finished writing, and discusses the scientific methods used, as well as the results drawn, and judges the research hypotheses with the supervisory committee to evaluate the progress made in completing the research. – The student listens to the amendments submitted by the committee, and works on them. – The student also sends a copy of the scientific research he published during this period to the office of the Academic Director. | 1 year 3 months for master |
9. Final Seminar and Eligibility Report | – After the nominated student has completed all the amendments requested by the committee during the previous seminars, – The student submits a final script that includes a detailed presentation of his/her thesis. – After the committee is convinced of the correction submitted by the student, the committee chair prepares a detailed report that includes the signed evaluation file on the student’s eligibility for the final defense, the minutes of the previous seminars, the work plan, and a final copy of the research project, and sends it to the academic director to set a date for the final defense. | 2 month for DBA 1 month for master |
10. Final defense of the thesis | – After setting a date for the final defense by the Academic Director based on the proposal of the Chairman of the Supervisory Committee, the student is given a period of one month to prepare the presentation. – The discussion takes place in public, either in person or via the Internet. – At the end of the discussion, the committee issues the final evaluation, and the student is awarded the degree due. | 2 month for DBA 1 month for master |
